Enterprise PBM Clinical Platform
The Challenge
Building a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) Clinical-Only Solution requires handling complex clinical rules engines, multi-tenant requirements across different enterprise clients, and strict regulatory compliance. Delivery cycles for new features were originally measured in weeks or months due to complex business logic and dependencies across teams.
Architecture & Solution
I took full ownership of the delivery pipeline — from requirements analysis and solution design through development, testing, and production deployment. The architecture heavily leveraged Node.js for backend services, coupled with a highly scalable database layer (MySQL and Redis) to support the clinical rules engine.
- Multi-Tenancy: Designed a configuration-driven architecture enabling teams to switch between client environments seamlessly.
- Clinical Rules Engine: Built deep domain expertise to implement complex clinical logic at both the database and application levels.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Led a squad spanning Development, QA, and DevOps to ensure zero downtime and rapid incident response.
Business Impact
By optimizing the pipeline and restructuring the architecture, delivery cycles were reduced from months to as little as 1 day. The platform successfully deployed features across 5 major enterprise clients with high stability and a 0% issue recurrence rate following critical incidents.
